Impact Girls Conference 11-3-18

Impact Girls Conference

Influencing My Peers As Christian Teens
Specifically for teenage girls ages 13–19

About a year ago, it was decided that because there were so many teenage girls on the campus of Tipton Children’s Home, it would be good to host a conference and allow them the opportunity to learn to serve in a way that invited others to join them, but also so that they could learn how to better serve the Lord as teenage girls. When the ladies met with the girls, they came up with the name IMPACT for the conference, which stands for “Influencing My Peers As Christian Teens”. The planning for this day began! Our teenage girls will be leading the conference today.

Kathy Pollard, Denver, CO, was asked to be our speaker, and many of you know Kathy or know of her, so you may already know that Kathy’s son, Gary, had a major health scare this week with asthma, a hole in his lung, and was in ICU in Alabama. Kathy made the decision to stay in Alabama so that she could be sure to be there as Gary was taken off of the ventilator. Kathy wanted to be here, and of course we wanted her to be here with us, but being with her son is where she needed to be. Please pray for Kathy, her husband, Neal, and their son Gary. We are so thankful that Gary has improved and that the doctors believe he will make a full recovery within a few weeks. Kathy would like to thank everyone for their prayers on Gary’s behalf. She told him that we prayed for him several times during the conference and he says thank you as well. Thank you, Kathy, for your prayers for the success of this day. We pray that all who came were encouraged and that in everything, God was glorified.

Shanelle Ingram, Lauren Waugh, and Lori Coke Waugh were the speakers for the event. Thank you to Shanelle and Lauren for helping on short notice. The teens did a wonderful job planning and decorating for the conference. Thank you to Kendall Roberts for making our video and to those who participated in that. And thanks to all for the others who helped in any way.

To our guests, thank you for coming! We look forward to seeing you again next time.
